Creating the cover for ‘Cartoon Lampoon: The Art of Self-taught Animation’ was an exciting process! The images were carefully picked from the book to make sure the cover truly shows off the amazing talents of the self-taught animators featured, from indie creators to industry pros.

The selection process for ‘Cartoon Lampoon: The Art of Self-taught Animation' involved carefully choosing individuals who have little to no formal education in animation. Each artist was selected based on their unique journey, often having pursued different fields in college before discovering their passion for animation. Through interviews and articles, we explored their stories and showcased examples of their work, highlighting how they
use animation as a key part of their artistic expression. This approach celebrates the diverse paths and creative ingenuity of self-taught animators, from independent creators to industry professionals.
